Mental Health First Aid Awareness

Half Day - Adult Training

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) was developed in 2000 over in Australia. In 2007 it was brought to the UK to help address the growing need for mental health awareness. The MHFA courses are designed to educate managers and employees support others, help de-stigmatise Mental Health and creating an awareness of mental health first aid being on a par with physical first aid.

This course raises awareness of mental health. Students will gain:

​

  • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

  • An introduction to looking after their own mental health and wellbeing

  • Confidence to offer support to someone in distress or may be experiencing a mental health issue.

​

The training includes a combination of facilitated group discussions, presentations, videos and the includes MHFA Workbook. Students will receive a MHFA Mental Health Aware Certificate at the conclusion of the course.

​

MHFA is a licensed provider of Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
